Why stick with a (controversal) OSI layering model here? Does it really make
sense? I dont think that would be an improvement (but agrees
we should do something)

I think it would make much more sense to users to group them by type instead
of by an artificial layering model
1, stick all the telco taps down in a .../Telco  submenu
2, stick Host List and Conversation List down in a ../Traffic submenu.
Maybe also stick IO-Stat down there.
3, leave ServiceResponseTime (which supprots protocols from several layers)
on its own top level item.
etc.
