Just a suggestion: perhaps you could more easily colourise your trace using
a spreadsheet? Try ...

tethereal -r trace.cap | perl -pe 's/^ +//;s/ +/,/g' > trace.csv

This provides a quick and dirty conversion to csv. I find that once inside a
spreadsheet it's much easier to do colourise, chart and run multiple
summations and counts.
