Yes, for sure. Unfortunately important things such as documentation that
are not that interesting often falls down the edge :-(
However, I notice that things are getting better at a lot of open source
projects even in this regard :-)
From the development guide (which is online, and is the first thing a
potential developer would see) to the doc dir (which is embedded in
the source). Perhaps even having a section listing the different doc
dir files and their meanings.

Placing info of the file contents into the README files themselves might
be an even better idea :-)
