on bug 9687
from Michael
I looked at WinSparkle and contact the developers. Unfortunately WinSparkle
does not provide an API to get the current state of WinSparkle. The callbacks
recently implemented are only called after download to offer the
host-application to interrupt the call to the setup.
The developer are on the position: The user is with the UI which is displayed
awared enough, that a download is running.
I ask the developers, what happens, whether a download is interrupted by
closing the host, too. They are not sure, whether download starts at zero or
restart at the point wherever the download breaks before.
It seems, the developers see no need to implement such a feature.
So, I'm afraid, there is not an easy solution possible.
What about to patch WinSparkle for our requirements?
And a question to Gerald. Maybe can you answer the question, why I can't "take"
a bug in wiresharks bugzilla? When I open a bug which is not assign to me, I
can't see a link called "take bug" or so.
For my first question (which close-prompt should the installer display), I wait
for some suggestions...
