So there's no "ba0" adapter listed?

What version of libpcap are you using?
Running a capture on Ethereal using the lane0 interface captures no traffic. 

You'll only see fake Ethernet traffic there.
We expect to see at least the Signaling and ILMI traffic on VCs 5 and 16. 

What if you try to explicitly specify a device "ba0" on which to capture?
