We are attempting to add a SUNAtm X1157A card to an existing copy of Ethereal V.99.  The Ethereal software is installed on a SunFire 210 running Solaris Version 2.9.  We have loaded the GLIB, PCAPLIB and GTK+ software modules as suggested.

Ethereal Ethernet captures are possible using the machine’s motherboard based Ethernet controller which the Ethereal software sees as interface bge0.  Ethereal only lists the SunATM card as lane0.

Currently the SUN adaptor is connected to a port on a Cisco 8500 atm switch.  We have tried running Sun’s SnoopATM program and it captures packets transmitted by the card on VCs  5 and 16  sees packets received from the switch on the same VCs.

Running a capture on Ethereal using the lane0 interface captures no traffic.  We expect to see at least the Signaling and ILMI traffic on VCs 5 and 16.

Any suggestions as to what we are doing wrong?
