We are using version 0.9.3 of libpcap.

We modified the ATM Config statement to get rid of the lane0 interface.

The sun ATM Config is set as follows:
# Interface UNI C_IP_Host LANE_Instance LANE_Host
ba0 3.1 atm0 0 -
#

The Sun machine, as a result of ifconfig -a
Lists the following interfaces:

SunOS 5.9 Last change: 28 Apr 2003 22

vftp.owlcomputing.com@/export/home/gary>ifconfig -a

Sun's Atmsnoop lists the ba0 interface and will capture packets. Ethereal
does not list the ba0 interface, only the bge0 ethernet.

Where would we explicitly add the new interface ba0 in Ethereal?

We looked under:
EDIT> PREFERENCES> CAPTURE> EDIT INTERFACES> and the Ethernet is listed
there as well, but there is no option to add interfaces there.

Thanks
Gary Wippick

So there's no "ba0" adapter listed?

What version of libpcap are you using?

You'll only see fake Ethernet traffic there.

What if you try to explicitly specify a device "ba0" on which to capture?
