You might wanna try this
not src host "192.168.1.5
 
Also make sure that you enter the above filtering string in the capture filter area and not in the display filter box.
i.e.
Go to Capture -> interfaces -> Prepare -> Capture Filter and add your filter

 I've tried a number of combinations and as far as I can tell what I put in the capture filter settings has NO effect what so ever. When they're empty, everything gets captured. When I specify a host according to the helpfile, like "host 192.168.0.10", everything gets captured. If I try to use "!" or "not" etc everything gets captured. In fact, whatever I do everything always gets captured. On top of it all I don't even get any error messages to tell me what's wrong.

 Help please.
