Download and run a tool called fport from Foundstone Inc. It will help you easily identify the process on the box that is opening the connection. Then you can research that process to make sure it is legitimate and required.

I have noticed traffic coming from the WinXP pc running ethereal IP 10.1.10.167 going to 10.1.10.168 under udp.
 
I have deleted all entries in the registry for 10.1.10.168 and I have no mapped drives.
 
How do I stop *.167 from talking to *.168 every five seconds. ????
