I have noticed traffic coming from the WinXP pc running ethereal IP 10.1.10.167 going to 10.1.10.168 under udp.

I have deleted all entries in the registry for 10.1.10.168 and I have no mapped drives.

How do I stop *.167 from talking to *.168 every five seconds.

You have to find out what process on .167 is talking to .168 and kill it. I doubt that the registry has any effect on this (although I'm not a Windoze mavin). When a packet is ready to go from .167 to .168, .167 will ARP for .168 and learn what its MAC address is.
