But it looks like you have not installed net-snmp (also know as ucd-snmp).
You can get the source from http://sourceforge.net/projects/net-snmp
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/net-snmp>
It does not look like there is a Solaris 2.8 version already built so you
might have to roll-your-own.

Subject:	[Ethereal-users] What is wrong here?? (ethereal & Sun
Solaris 2.8 (sparc))

I get following listing with ethereal on sun solaris (sparc):
bash-2.03# Cannot find module (IP-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (IF-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (TCP-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (UDP-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMPv2-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMPv2-SMI): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (UCD-SNMP-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (UCD-DEMO-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMP-VIEW-BASED-ACM-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMP-COMMUNITY-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMP-FRAMEWORK-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMP-MPD-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMP-USER-BASED-SM-MIB): At line 0 in (none)

I have installed the needed libraries & applications into /usr/local
as the installer tells:
bash-2.03# pkginfo | grep ethereal ; pkginfo | grep glib ; pkginfo | grep
gtk ;
pkginfo | grep libp
application SMCether       ethereal
application SMCglib        glib
application SMCgtk+        gtk+
application SMClibpc       libpcap

Familiar problem? Do I need to patch the system library files or
how does it work?

HOWEVER despite the errors, the program works and displays the packet
flow?!!!
