every Win98 (SE or non-SE) machine I installed this on so far had
problems with the WinPCap installation: the machine gets confused
about wether the install has finished (after selecting the adapter
in the "have disk" menu), and then it just installs ONE protocol
binding to ONE adapter in the system, the driver install process
has to be repeated for each adapter. I also had problems getting
it to bind to certain non-standard ethernet adapters (primarily
one-way satellite DVB adapters): it would just pile up additional
bindings to other adapters (such as the dialup adapter). Overeall
behavior: extremely shaky. I have a Win98 (pre-SE) machine
right now, where Ethereal shows every sniffable adapter TWICE
for no obvious reason.
