Hello everyone.
In the last couple of weeks, and very much inspired by the all your
wonderful work, I've done an etherman clone which basically has all
its main features but the protocol dependant link color display.
Right now I must say I'm astonished by its success, placing 5th
in the sourceforge top downloads.
Such a rapid growth is a bit of a problem for a programmer with
little experience with different Unix platforms quirks, and even
though I tried to plan for the future using autoconf and glib,
already I'm getting bug reports I'll have a harder time solving
since I oly have access to my debian based home box.
One of those is the RH6.1 pcap "feature", as you call it :-), but
I've still haven't understood what exactly you did to work around
it, and I don't even know whether it would apply, since I'm giving
gdk a file descriptor to listen to and I think you use a
different technique.
So here is my call for advise, and an invitation to developers
to have a look at etherape. I could really use some help. :-)
