Hi,

I do wonder if this somehow has to do with a corrupted personal configuration file. Therefore have a look at https://www.wireshark.org/docs/wsug_html_chunked/ChConfigurationPluginFolders.html 

Rename the personal configuration folder to a backup name, (e.g., ws-backup) and try starting Wireshark again. It will now setup a new personal configuration folder, with default values, that hopefully work for you.

restart laptop

download new wireshark setup and install again

Seems something is wrong with your setup. Could you try with another user? You could also try to run the command-line utility tshark, which is installed together with wireshark. An error like you described is not known to us.
