Actually, the problem isn't specific to IPv6, or even to IP, as the bearer
protocol, and happens only when the encapsulated protocol doesn't consider the
network layer protocol ID (NLPID) part of the PDU. That's the case for
IPv4/IPv6 as the encapsulated protocol, as they weren't intended to be
transported atop the OSI network layer.
