If the packet format includes some flavor of Content-Type and Content-Encoding
headers, we might already handle that, or be able to expand Wireshark to be
able to handle that, at least for HTTP. We could probably arrange to do that
for SMTP as well; we have a dissector for RFC x822 messages, and we might be
able to arrange that the SMTP dissector call it.
We might not have had that back in September 2006, but we do now.
