The "ideal" way to fix this is to replace libpcap's use of libnl with
(non-GPLed and on-LGPLed!) code that *doesn't* use The Library Of The Three
Separate Versions So Far And The World Waits With Dread For libnl4, so that it
can create monN interfaces directly even on distributions that *don't* want to
link libpcap with libnl (Debian doesn't link it with libnl, as does at least
one derivative, Ubuntu; I think Fedora/Red Hat don't, either).
It's on my to-do list, but so is a lot of other stuff. Even once that's done,
it would only help on systems with a sufficiently up-to-date libpcap.
