OK, rev 42792 in the trunk splits "Save As" into a "Save As" operation, which
always saves all the packets and always makes the new file the current file,
and an "Export Specified Packets" operation, which lets the user specify which
packets to save, defaults to "displayed packets" (plus the packets on which the
displayed packets depend for reassembly - that's new in the trunk), and never
makes the new file the current file.
Does that resolve the

issue? "Save As" will always overwrite the file with the current window
contents and make it the new file, and "Export Specified Packets" will let you
save only some of the packets but you'd always have to open the new file as a
separate step (which is intentional).
