The Wireshark Start page normally displays "friendly" capture interface names.
For example, on my Windows Vista PC, the two interfaces are listed as:
NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Adapter Driver
Realtek
Clicking on an interface name starts capturing.
In 1.7.0-SVN-37925, the interfaces are now listed as:
\Device\NPF_{3F24E1F3-9503-49D6-B5D0-744565DV79FD}
\Device\NPF_{CD1BBA11-C279-4F99-91F4-5A8A6C918212}
Clicking on an interface name does nothing. In order to start capturing, one
has to use the "Start a new live capture button," the "Show the capture
options...." button, or one of the choices under the "Capture" menu.
I first saw this in 1.7.0-SVN-37922. Reverting to 37909 or to stable version
1.6.0 restores the friendly interface names and the click-to-start-capturing
behavior.
