Dear Wireshark support team,
I can perform remote packet capture on Windows using the following capture
interface:
rpcap://172.31.4.16/eth1
When I try to perform the same remote packet capture on Linux, running
Wireshark with root access privileges, I get the following error message:
"
The capture session could not be initiated (SIOCGIFHWADDR: No such device).
Please check to make sure you have sufficient permissions, and that you have
the proper interface or pipe specified.
"
Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards,
Paul
