Hi,

I am wondering how I can use tethereal to do the following:

I want to write a program that will run continuously in the background on a VoIP server and display VoIP analysis information on a per call basis. I would like it to be real-time. I want it to filter out RTP/RTCP packets so I can retrieve the jitter, packet loss, delay info etc. I know about using the “Decode as” etc functionality of ethereal. My problem is that I don’t know if its possible to see this in real time i.e. without having a person there all the time to stop the capture, save the file etc etc. …Does anyone have suggestions about this?

Slightly off the point, I looked at using tcpdump (linux) to do this but I would need to know the src IP address/port and the destination IP address/port. I would rather that all RTP/RTCP streams be monitored.

Any help appreciated,

Aisling.
