Hello Harris,
Thanks so much for your response.
The network adapter that I am capturing is ' Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit
Ethernet Driver '.
I have to verify your questions on 'Switched Network'. I am almost sure
it is a switched network here,
But I get all the 'to and from' packets on my PC which is a windows 2000
and Intel 8255x-based Integrated Fast Ethernet. I am on a different network
too.
Do you have any other thoughts to add on why 'source' packets are missing
on 'Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Driver'.
Many Thanks for any inputs !

What type of network adapter are you capturing on?
If it's an Ethernet adapter, you might be on a switched network, in
which case the only surprise would be that you're not seeing traffic
whose *source* is the PC's IP address; see
http://www.ethereal.com/faq#q5.1
If it's an 802.11 adapter, this might just be a result of 802.11 drivers
that aren't particularly friendly towards packet capture:

Some Ethernet drivers might have that problem, too.
