Hi,
Some OID:s are translated in the SVN version of Ethereal e.g will be available at the next release, you can try out the most recent build at:
http://www.ethereal.com/distribution/buildbot-builds/   ethereal-setup-0.10.9-SVN-13255.exe

The following OID:s are translated, if you know of any more OID:s can you please add them to the list and send it back to me for inclusion in Ethereal,
if you have any traces to send to me privately I'd apreciate it as im working on improving the GSM MAP dissection an need sample captures to veryfy
the code.
Best regards
Anders

Subject: [Ethereal-users] ITU-T TCAP protocol, Application Context Name

Hello,

The ethereal is a very good tool. It helps me a lot in my work.

I found a thing in the ITU-T TCAP decoding part. When decoding GSM MAP messages, the Application Context Name in the TCAP protocol is not decoded.

For example, the Application Context Name decoded by ethereal is:
  Application Context Name Tag: 0xa1
  Length: 0x09
  OID: 0.4.0.0.1.0.5.3

It would be good if the OID (Object Identity) could be decoded to
  locationInfoRetrievalContext-v3
or
  ccitt (0) identified-organization (4) etsi (0) mobileDomain (0)
  mobileDomainDefinitions (0) version1 (1)
  locInfoRetrieval(5) version3(3)

Thanks,

Wally Lo
