I believe that on a cvs (svn) build you have to run ./autogen.sh first.
This isn't neccessary when compiling an "official" build.

Hope that helps,

Subject: [Ethereal-users] 10.5 build problem on linux

I have no problem with ./configure, make, make install on a downloaded,
untarred 10.5.
But when I place the code under CVS and try to build within my cvs
working directory, I get the errors below.
If I copy the untarred 10.5 source into my cvs working directory,
preverving the time stamps, it works
(\cp -rfp * /home/bevans/UA_3rdParty/pkg-base/src/ethereal-0.10.5/src)
Any ideas?
I have been working on this all day, so any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks, Bob.
