Hi - I am trying to build ethereal from source code on Windows 2000. When I
try to compile the source by running nmake -f makefile.nmake, I get the
error below. I have already installed flex from http://cygwin.com.

flex -Pascend -oascend-scanner.c ascend-scanner.l
'flex' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'flex' : return code '0x1'
Stop.
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: '"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio\VC98\bin\N
MAKE.EXE"' : return code '0x2'
Stop.

I have also tried building Ethereal on my Windows XP machine. When trying to
compile the file airopeek9.c, I get error messages stating that it can not
open errno.h, stdio.h, and stddef.h.

Can you give me some insight on what I'm doing wrong?

Thank You
Farrah
