I have been doing more reading and this may be a VLAN problem.  I am
going to try to configure the 3c905B card for the VLAN and see if that
works.

I'd suggest you ask HP for help - if tcpdump also sees only broadcast
traffic, this is probably a case of either

    1) promiscuous mode not working on the NIC (although if the
Kingswood
card uses a different chip and driver, that's probably not the
problem)

or

    2) the monitoring port on the switch not getting all traffic through
the switch sent to it

and if it's 2) that's a problem with the switch.
