WinPcap 3.1 beta *might* help, but it might require that Microsoft's 
Network Monitor driver be installed in order to capture on PPP devices.

there are support tools for Windows XP Professional that include the 
command-line Netcap tool, which includes the Network Monitor driver - 
but that doesn't say anything about Windows XP Home, so if you're using 
Windows XP Home, you might be out of luck.
