Are there two machines involved, or just one?
I.e., is your Web browser running on a different machine from the
machine running the Java servlet?

yes, the browser runs on a MS box, the servlet engine runs on Solaris box

And, if so, is the browser running on some desktop machine where the
admin doesn't get to say what software you run?
If so, you might try running Ethereal on *that* machine, instead.

Yeah, I have already tried to convince admin to let me put it on my windows
box but they are up tight about that too.
Ideally hoping that there is a config item or I can play with source
