Hello,

I am experiencing an interesting situation here.
I use tethereal 0.9.12 to sniff some packets from my wireless LAN and then i process to analyze them.

I used the filter,
tethereal -i eth2 -a duration:30 -f 'ether[0]&0xf0!=0x80' -w teth.log
to filter out 802.11b packets.

I was doin that successfully for some months, till we decided to install one more wireless LAN. (Both the wireless lans are on different channels).

Now i observe that, tethereal does not sniff any packets from the accesspoint of previous wireless LAN (WLAN1). I can see packets of the accesspoint from the new wireless LAN (WLAN2).
(Note that: tethereal is running on one of the machines from WLAN1.)

If the accesspoint in both of the wireless LANs broadcasts packets, why cannot tethereal see packets braodcasted by accesspoint (beacon frames etc..) of WLAN1

Again, if i disconnect WLAN2, tethereal can sniff packets from accesspoint of WLAN1.

Any hints are appreciated.
Thanks
-Vaidehi
