Hi,

I think I found the problem, because of something you mentioned about 
handling .so files... I just noticed there aren't any <plugin>.so files in my 
plugins dir, but for each plugin, there is:
<plugin>
<plugin>.la

Now if I create a .so link to the <plugin> files, then it seems to work... But 
of course, the obvious question now is, why didn't I get any .so files in the 
make install?
