I ran into an issue with ethereal that may or may not have already been
covered on this list.

The '-a duration:' switch doesn't operate as expected should there not be
any packets captured which satisfy the filters.

For example,

# tethereal -a duration:60 -i eth0 host 10.1.1.1

won't stop after the expected 60 seconds should there not be any traffic
to/from 10.1.1.1 on eth0.

Anyone else experience this?

Compiled with GLib 1.2.10, with libpcap 0.7.2, with libz 1.1.4,
without UCD-SNMP or Net-SNMP, without ADNS
