Thanks, I'll give that a try.

to run the capture filter for msn yahoo and aim, you can filter the ports they
run on. ie:

port 5050 || port 1863 || port 5190

Subject: [Ethereal-users] Capture Filtering

I'm interested in filtering on the major IM services (MSN, Yahoo!, AIM). I
figured out how to use a display filter, but is it possible to use a capture
filter (as it's happening) for the IM services? If so, can someone share with
me the syntax I should use? I'm running Ethereal (GUI) 0.9.15 on Windows 2000
SP4 with WinPcap.  Thanks.

Andrew
