Thanks for your help.  At first I commented out the lines in the preferences file.  However, when I saved my preferences through the menu, it seemed to re-write the GTP options in the new format within the preferences file.

I appreciate all the help.  Ethereal is a great tool.  Please keep up the good work.

...and if you *are* using GTP, and remember the settings of those
options - or haven't changed them - you can still edit the preferences
file with Ethereal; just do the above, but, before clicking "Save", open
up the "Protocols" list in the left-hand pane, select "GTP", and make
whatever changes are necessary.
