Hi people,
I just downloaded ethereal 0.9.9 from the web in its source format. I have install in my machine the gtk 2.2 and glib 2.2, zlib, etc..... And it is recommended for ethereal to work with gtk 1.2. Is it compatible with gtk 2.2?.
The problem is that when I try to configure the ethereal it always says:
checking for gtk-config... no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
checking for glib-config... no
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** The glib-config script installed by GLIB could not be found
*** If GLIB was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GLIB_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to glib-config.
configure: error: GLib distribution not found.

Any ideas what this might meean??? I have made a find for the gtk-config and glib-config but the gtk-config does not exist under gtk 2.2 and glib-config is in /var/pkgconfig-0.15.0/glib-1.2.8/glib-config Any suggestions on what I might do?
BR,
