I had the same problem with XP and WinPcap. If you install a WinPcap over
top of an old WinPcap version then it fails to capture packets. It basically
breaks the installation. 

I fixed it by uninstalling Ethereal, WinPcap and NmapWin (which uses the
same packet driver) and then reinstalling WinPcap first, rebooting and
installing the applications that use the driver.

Hi Everyone, I need some help with my XP ethereal installation, I had XP Pro

and ethereal working, but then my system crashed and after reinstaling XP 
and WinPcap 2.3 and ethereal i cannot see ethereal reading any of my NIC 
cards. Though i can open existing files.

Any help is much appreciated.
