Hello,
I am trying to make Ethereal sniff raw 802.11 packets. I have compiled
Ethereal 0.9.7 with libpcap 0.7.1, but without UCD-SNMP and zlib.
I am using a Xircom 802.11b PCMCIA card which has the same drivers as
Cisco's aironet 340 series card.
I did echo "Mode: rfmon" >/proc/driver/aironet/eth1/Config as mentioned in
the FAQ, but I still cannot sniff any raw 802.11 beacon or control packets.
Can any one tell me where I am going wrong? I need to make ethereal work to
sniff raw 802.11 packets as it is a part of univan experiment I am doing
with wireless LANs. All ethereal does is sniff packets and display them as
normal ethernet packets without really analysing them as 802.11 packets.
Any help will be highly appreciated,
Thank you group,
Vivek.
