Just downloaded and installed WinPcap2.3 and
Ethereal 0.9.3-1 on a Win2K machine 5.00.2195 Service Pack 2.
Error is immediate upon start up:
Gdk Error **: Palletized display (256-colour) mode
not supported on Windows. Aborting....
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime error in ethereal.exe
Abnormal program termination.
I have my graphics set for 1600 x 1200 which for my
system sets color back to 256.
If I set my graphics for 1280 x 1024 I can run 16
bit color, in which case the above error does not occur.
Is there a reason why the program needs 16 bit
color?
