I seem to have hit a snag trying to install
ethereal on Red Hat. The ethereal-0.8.17-1.i386.rpm complains that it can't
find libsnmp.so.0. On closer inspection, it appears to be installed, the package
ucd-snmp-4.2-12.i386.rpm is installed, therefore this file should apparently
(and it does) exist. So how can that be? How come the package complains that the
file isn't there, but in actuality it is. Well it's not a file, it's
a syslink, but I don't know anything about syslinks. I read through
the previous emails similar to this, and I don't understand what you mean. I ran
ldconfig -v through less and this came up:
/usr/lib: ldconfig: File
/usr/lib/libsnmp-0.4.2.so is too small, not checked. ldconfig: File
/usr/lib/libsnmp.so.0 is too small, not checked. ldconfig: File
/usr/lib/libsnmp.so.0.4.2 is too small, not checked. ldconfig: File
/usr/lib/libsnmp.so is too small, not checked.
Any information you can give me would be a great
help.
Thank-you
Matt. Byrne.
