Presumably there is some application from which you're getting those
timeouts; what application is it?

On what operating system is this happening?

Have you tried using tcpdump/WinDump to capture packets?  If so (run
tcpdump/WinDump with the command-line flags "-s 65535", and use the "-w"
flag to save the capture to a file), does the same problem occur?  If
so, it's a problem with whatever raw packet capture mechanism is in your
OS, not with Ethereal.
