*Hi,*

checking for ucd-snmp/version.h... yes

These are the headers for development using the UCD SNMP
library.

*checking for snmp/snmp.h... no
checking for snmp/version.h... no

I bet these are for using the CMU SNMP library.

checking for sprint_objid in -lsnmp... no
checking for sprint_objid in -lsnmp... no
*configure: error: SNMP header files found, but sprint_objid not found in SNMP library.*

*It gives this error and stops. Can someone please help me understand what this problem is and how I can overcome it.*

It may be looking for a feature of the CMU SNMP lib.
which may be missing from that of UCD SNMP. I suggest
using configure --help to see if one must `configure ... \
--enable-ucd-snmp ...` or `configure ... --snmp=ucd ...` ,
or something like that. I'd check, but I'm in the
middle of other things...

Maybe even before that, check for the existence of
libsnmp* in /lib /usr/lib /usr/local/lib .

*Thanks.*
