What happens on those interfaces that don't work?

Does tcpdump have the same problem?

If tcpdump does have the same problem, have you applied to libpcap the
patches in the "README.hpux" file and rebuilt both Ethereal and tcpdump
with the new libpcap, and installed "latest lancommon/DLPI patches" (as
per Rick Jones' comp.sys.hp.hpux posting included in "README.hpux"; I
don't know what those patches)?
