Support for Win 9x based systems are just crumbling away anywhere.

GTK 2.8 doesn't work with it at all (PANGO requires NT+ as I understand it), WinPcap doesn't provide support for 9x systems any more (it may or may not work).

So I don't know to handle this.

An idea might be: We might want to keep the 9x compatibility as much as *we* can until the 1.0 release (and fix bugs as they are reported and if we *can* fix them) and drop any support for 9x beyond the 1.0 release.

However, we can't really promise to support 9x at all, as the number of developers working on 9x systems seems to be around zero today ...

So what *we* could offer is to fix bugs that we *can* fix, but were "off hands" for bugs in the various libraries we use ...
