At http://www.ethereal.com/faq.html#q1.10 the FAQ specifically states
that Ethereal does still run on Windows ME, but for me 0.99.0 raises
an exception in line 252 of emem.c on start-up (assertion failed: (ret
== TRUE). I don't really mind ethereal not running on 9x machines, I
was just upgrading all our test machines.

I think we should just state that ethereal > 0.10.?? does not run on
Win9x anymore (instead of going through the hassle of supporting it).

Does anyone have a clue about how many people are actually using
Ethereal on Win9x?
