I'm assuming that at least one of the following will happen to the 1.0 
codebase after the 1.0 release:

  - Our automated testing tools will find problems.
  - Security research (like rust) never sleeps.
  - Downstream distributions (such as Red Hat and SuSE) will find and
    fix bugs.

I don't know who will do the maintenance work.  I plan to do some of it, 
at least.  Anyone want to volunteer to be the 1.0 maintainer?
