There's also tcpdump/WinDump, although the code path through it should
be fairly similar to the code path through tethereal - if
tcpdump/WinDump can keep up but tethereal can't keep up *with the same
snapshot length* that's arguably a bug in tethereal.
If it's not faster than Ethereal/Tethereal itself, it won't help much. So it might not be a good tip.
