Hi,

Wouldn't it be good to have the Info-column information in the PDML file
also?
That is actually the one main thing I'm missing in the PDML output, I think.

Maybe an optional field "summaryinfo" in the geninfo proto part or a
"frame.summaryinfo" in the frame proto part.
What do you think is best?

I guess that it could be relevant also for Analyzer or other programs to put
some kind of summary for each packet in the future.
The format of the information will of course be different between Analyzer
and Ethereal.

The Ethereal Info-column is often a good summary of the packet that could be
useful for the post-processing program
when presenting a summary of a specific packet to the user, or similar.

One idea I have is to make a program that makes call-flows and then the
"Info column" can be really useful as
a summary for a packet. I made a similar tool that used the text output
(summary printout) from tethereal, but by using a PDML
I could do a more powerful call-flow tool.

I have several ideas of programs/scripts based on PDML output and I think
that it would be good
to have the Info column information in several other situations also.
