First of all: config.nmake is *only* used on the win32 platform.

Well, config.nmake will always be wrong if you don't use the intended environment.

It's only meant as a template, to keep your own platform settings only in one file and not spread over the whole code.

I try to keep it up to date for a simple cygwin environment, as this might be the easiest way
to get the whole environment up and running.

If you don't have a  bash, you might have a problem here.
