The model of "global" and "per-capture" settings probably needs some
re-thinking.  The same issue applies to protocol preferences, and
perhaps also to protocol enabled/disabled settings (and to protocol
selector bindings, e.g. TCP/UDP port-to-protocol bindings, if we ever
make those saveable).

You might want some of those to be your "default" settings, so that they
apply to all captures.  You might also want to override them for
particular captures; the per-capture configurations should *not* be
saved, but the global ones should probably be saved when changed, were
we to make such a distinction.

This also brings up the "profiles" idea mentioned recently, wherein,
instead of having a single set of (default) preferences, display and
capture filters, disabled protocols, and color filters, there would be
multiple (presumably named) sets.
