The file compiled perfectly clean on SPARC with gcc.

Here's a patch to clean up most of those warnings--it looks like the 
function prototypes were cut-n-pasted a little too much.

BTW, on Solaris 8, 'gcc' is called with "-Wno-return-type" so some of us 
don't see these warnings by default...
