whoops. i guess i really meant: "w/o linking to 3rd party libraries
except for ones included in the freebsd build (ie, libpcap)".

this makes a lot more sense. thanks. i foolishly assumed that glib was
just some gtk X thing as well, but i now see that it has nothing to do
with X.

i think i've had my head buried in routers for too long. ;->

ok, i'll toy around with --disable-* and see what i can produce. hopefully
i can get a 'tethereal' slave port in time for freebsd 4.5 (just around
the corner).
